In that Day When I Make Up My Jewels

What an absolutely gorgeous, God inspired day today!

When it is cold enough at night that the moisture particles freeze in air, called hoarfrost, and every particle catches a light and twinkles in the air. Come morning the frost covers all one can see, everywhere. As the sun rises and shines across the landscape, these particles again twinkle in a Royal blanket of tiny, silvery jewels shining in all the glory only God can create.

God’s silver envelope has enhanced every tree, every blade of grass, the fences and pathways creating a surreal-like vision that far exceeds all that Disney magic could imagine. And they only twinkle where the Son shines through. It is a morning where you don’t want to the vision to end. A vision where at any time our Lord and His Heavenly Host will walk by and gather them all for His Kingdom.

“The LORD their God will save them on that day as the flock of his people. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.” Zechariah 9:16
“They shall be Mine,’ saith the Lord of Hosts, ‘in that day when I make up My jewels.’” Malachi 3:17

Royal Imperial Crown

When He cometh
Words: William O. Cushing, 1856.

When He cometh, when He cometh
To make up His jewels,
All His jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.

Refrain

Like the stars of the morning,
His brightness adorning,
They shall shine in their beauty,
Bright gems for His crown.

He will gather, He will gather
The gems for His kingdom;
All the pure ones, all the bright ones,
His loved and His own.

Refrain

Little children, little children,
Who love their Redeemer,
Are the jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.

Refrain

There is an amusing story on this hymn of how familiar tunes can unite people from many nations and ethnic backgrounds. http://cyberhymnal.org/htm/w/h/whenheco.htm
